Am I using AI to create your website?

This article from July 22, 2025 was updated on June 30, 2026.

A great assistant, not an agent.

Text, images, any types of content, layouts or designs, all the creative work that goes into making a website: no way am I giving that up to a machine. It's your project, my work.

AI, run locally, privately and without giving money to the greedy, power-hungry tech overlords of the world, can be truly helpful in upscaling low-res images, helping me better understand code, finding inspiration, sketching rough ideas or automating repetitive, tedious workflows. It's a great assistant, and nothing more.

Humans crafting for humans

I keep hearing it over and over: "Better start using AI, it's here to stay, don't miss that train" and it's usually followed by: "Watch out, it's gonna replace you in a couple years time!" Well here's the deal:

I don't give a fuck.

The future isn't written and I love what I do. And that's to create hand-crafted websites for you that provide genuine, tangible benefits to your business.

So when you work with me, you get real web design, real photography, real copywriting, real SEO and real partnership. Plus all the services that my hand-picked, carefully vetted partners in my professional network offer, like advanced coding or marketing, graphic design, complex builds and more.

"We must continue to have humans make things that inspire and provoke other humans!"

...said Jon Stewart, recently. (followed by, "ChatGPT wrote that", but hey ;-)).

It's not like AI destroys our future or anything

Oh, hey, you know what else AI does? It messes with the environment and accelerates our breathless race towards global ecological breakdown. But eh, who cares, right? As long as we can click a button and boom, website's done. As long as we can strip the heart and soul from every human endeavour and produce endless regurgitated slop, right?! Obey! Consume product!

AI corporations have stolen humanity's collective knowledge and now scare us into buying it back from them, amassing obscene amounts of wealth and power while the rest of humanity gets screwed. AI has major impacts on the lives of everyday people, with data centres causing light pollution, noise pollution, actual pollution, using up ridiculous amounts of freshwater, sending energy prices through the roof all while the actual technology is used to kill jobs and abuse people. See for yourself. Sincerely, fuck them.

I'm not contributing a single cent to that. We're eating and burning our way through the planet we live on and this AI insanity, as it's handled right now, is accelerating the destruction. Quite honestly, I don't get how this is not a recipe for pitchforks and guillotines. Did you see the response commencement speakers got when they praised AI in the spring of 2026?

Sigh. All right, off my soapbox I step. Listen, don't get me wrong, AI's got a lot of upsides and it can help with climate change, too. But let's not lose sight of our genuine humanity.

The case for local AI.

I'm running AI locally on my ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 G733PY laptop with 64 GB RAM and an RTX 4090 laptop GPU (16 GB VRAM). Why?

  • Digital independence. The AI models are downloaded to my PC and nobody can take them away.
  • Privacy. No data ever leaves this PC.
  • Savings. No subscriptions. No dependence on the whims and price hikes of a volatile industry.

I'm real and here for you.

I'm gonna keep doing my job, getting better at it every day and you best believe I'll keep investing in my relationships with you guys.

If that means I'll lose my job, who cares? I'll land on my feet. It's a big world and there's lots to do in it.

Meanwhile, let's keep creating greatness together, as friends and partners!

Anyway, that's all I've got for today. 😉
