Draft: Lemon Film

At the end of 2019 / beginning of 2000 I created a model website for the film production company, Lemon Film in Schwalbach im Taunus.

The design is based on the existing logo and brand color, which I slightly modified; it's an experiment with transparency effects and a looping video in the background.

This required the well thought-out use of CSS, the creation of graphic assets in GIMP and post-processing the background video in the Kdenlive software.

Hotel an der Messe (Hotel by the Fair)

The Hotel an der Messe is a stylish boutique hotel in the heart of the business metropolis, Frankfurt am Main, idyllically located in a residential area close to the Frankfurt Fair.

Between 2019 and 2020, in collaboration with the 2SINN advertising agency, I redesigned the hotel's aging website.

Inspired by the colors and logos of the old website, I created the new look, and after interviews and based on texts from the old website, I created the new content.

I embedded the Caesar Data booking system by adapting code provided by the developer. The review system by service provider, Customer Alliance was integrated by a professional web developer, partner of 2SINN, using PHP.

Communal society: Handwerk und Gewerbe in Königstein

For the communal business association "Handwerk und Gewerbe in Königstein", I built a complex directory for local businesses. In it, stores and small enterprises have their own profile pages, which can be found by full-text search and filtered by industry. To be listed, applicants fill out a detailed form on the website and send it to the association.

I built this form from scratch with the WordPress plugin, "Contact Form 7". The business directory is based on the "Pods" plugin, which I used to create a special WordPress content type for businesses, with its own content classes and fields.

I did this work on behalf of and in cooperation with the advertising agency, 2SINN GmbH in Königstein im Taunus. In addition to building the business directory, I re-did the branding based on the logos and colors of the association's old website, and I built an event calendar.

Day-Care Nanny Momela

Momela, that name stands for warm, caring and professional childcare provided by a day nanny with heart and soul. This the second of my projects for the Franiek family, after the Atelier Franiek website for Kunibert Franiek in 2018.

Emanuela Franiek opened her day care center in Bliesmengen-Bolchen in the Saarland in 2019, named after her mascot, the doll Momela. For the website, I chose a playful but professional style with strong colors, appealing animations and texts that radiate warmth and joy.

I also made custom modules for Emanuela with which she could easily manage her content, e.g. to add dates or announcements.

The website is available in three languages. I wrote the texts in German with Emanuela and translated them to English. French was delivered by the client.

Outdoor restaurant: Naturfreundehaus Billtal

The forest restaurant, Naturfreundehaus Billtal is a popular and well-known excursion destination in the Taunus region in Germany, near Königstein im Taunus.

A new website was due in 2019, for which I initially did several extensive photo sessions in the restaurant and its grounds. For the website, I created a complete concept to capture the rustic, honest, warm look and feel of the Naturfreundehaus.

I expressed this character in colors, graphical elements, typeface and with a newly designed logo. I created all the texts based on interviews and information provided by the client.

I also created a system that the team can easily use to place announcements or appointments on the website.

I still work with Sabine Schädel, the manager of the Naturfreundehaus. We share a friendly professional relationship and I help with regular updates and changes ono the website.

For the embroidery artist Sabine Perez, I took a series of photos at an art exhibition in 2019 that show her exhibits and tools in their delicate and lively details.

I then designed this model of a possible new website for the artist, where I worked with a tiled layout, prominently staging the previously created photography.

I deliberately chose saturated, strong colors that emphasize the liveliness of her art.

Peter Schwägerl, IT Consultant

Throughout all stages of this project, I enjoyed great cooperation with the friendly, patient and open-minded Mr. Schwägerl, from design to development, photography, copywriting to the creation of the graphics for his new website.

Working together on the square tiles in the site's layout was particularly instructive for me, especially the challenge of adapting them to mobile devices.

I shot all the photos on the website during several sessions with Peter Schwägerl and his family in prestigious lobbies in Frankfurt am Main.

For the one-pager, I revised Peter Schwägerl's existing logo and used its features to extrapolate the website's design elements and color palette.

All content was created by Brand Artery with input from Peter Schwägerl, including copywriting.

Atelier Franiek: Artist Kunibert Franiek

Kunibert Franiek, painter and visual artist in Kleinblittersdorf in Saarland, gave me creative freedom in creating the website for his Atelier Franiek.

I chose a bright design, surrounded by a striking white frame within the browser's viewport. In addition, I crafted hand-written animations in CSS for menu items and buttons, on which the brush strokes that I created in GIMP for the logo and many places on the website move.

The life of this website, however, comes from the myriad of photos I took with Kunibert Franiek in several sessions in and around the studio.

To top it off, I built a system that Kunibert could easily use to insert new announcements and appointments on his website.

All texts were created in collaboration with the client, copywriting and text editing in German was done by me, as were the English translations.

Local society: Bürgervereinigung Alt-Münster

The "Bürgervereinigung Alt-Münster" (Citizens' Association of Alt-Münster) is a traditional association in the small municipality of Kelkheim-Münster in the Main Taunus district, region of Frankfurt am Main. The association takes care of preserving, celebrating and maintaining local life and culture in its town.

I completely rebuilt their old website in the summer of 2018. I made an event calendar using the WordPress plugin "The Events Calendar" and created a blog that features press releases and stories from the association's life.

I also created an in-depth photo archive, custom-built on the WordPress blog system.

I manually processed text and photo material that goes back to the 1980s for the blog and photo archive and ported it from the old website to the new one.

I still work with the association to keep the website up to date and maintain it technically.

Yoga Studio · Yoga de la Vie

I built this extensive website for Celine Gingras and her yoga studio, Yoga de la Vie. In addition to the studio's history and range of services, it comprises an event calendar and donation options.

It is available in English and French. I wrote or edited the texts in English, and then Celine translated them.

I photographed several events (courses, celebrations) at the studio, and the photos became the visual backbone of the website.

In 2018, I rebuilt and optimized the website, which I had initially built in 2016 with a free WordPress theme and a lot of self-written code. The new version runs on the Beaver Builder Page Builder, a future-proof system that I still use today and continue to refine and shape.

Immigration Lawyer Angela Potvin

The first-ever Brand Artery project, this was the initial website of Montreal lawyer Angela Potvin.

I shot all the photos that ended on this website, developed logos, branding and corporate identity and I am responsible for its complete design and layout.

I also took on text editing: Angela's texts are optimized according to best copywriting practices.

The website is no longer online, replaced by Angela's current company, ServImm. I still maintain a strong friendship and business relationship with Angela.
